- Congress should have acted before the bonuses were paid. Passing laws to tax them after the fact does not appear to be legal.

I agree.
These bonuses are due the workers of AIG and were added as an Amendment to the huge 1,000-page "stimulus package" that Congress approved without having time to fully read what they are agreeing to. They are a bunch of dunderheads if they don't know what is in the bill THEY approved.

We do NOT need a president micromanaging corporations.

WE NEED GOVERNMENT TO STOP SPENDING.

I agree completely with Jonathan. Where is Congress in this? They crafted the bailout bill and approved it knowing full well that bonuses were contractually obligated, I am guessing. They love to posture after the fact with such indignation. How ridiculous is that? Always busy grandstanding and reacting rather than being on top of the mess to begin and working on real solutions rather than bailouts. Where are America's best and brightest? At home shaking their heads in disgust.
